Glendale Health Festival

Saturday,  November 7, 2015

Civic Auditorium

1401 N. Verdugo Rd, Glendale, CA 91208

We are excited to announce that we are collaborating once again this year with the Glendale Health Festival in order to bring an all family, all inclusive bigger and more extensive Health Fair. The Glendale Health Festival has previously serviced adults.  We are  able to service the entrie family. Come for good health, free services, and screenings for all ages!

During the November 2014 Health Festival, nearly 2000 people walked through the doors for health care services.

This year we occupied the top and bottom floors of the Glendale Civic Auditorium which was by far the largest footprint we have had to date.  In a five hour period of time, the Armenian American Nursing Association processed over 300 blood tests, which included a complete lipid panel and blood sugar. The Northwest Glendale Lions Club provided over 500 eye screenings and 250 free prescription eye glasses. The AAMS Dentist volunteers and the USC School of Dentistry screened over 130 men and women for dental and oral health related issues.

The LA County Dept. of Public Health provided over 270 free flu shots.  We arranged for over 50 free PAP smear screenings in conjunction with the LA County Dept. of Public Health, Office of Women’s Health.  The AAMS Ladies Auxiliary provided 37 vouchers for Mammogram screenings to eligible women in the community. This year we had a distinguished group of over 100+ healthcare professional volunteers including Cardiologists, Chiropractors, Dentists, Family

Medicine,  Internal Medicine Physicians, Gynecologists, Nephrologists, Neurologist, Pediatricians, Pharmacists, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, Orthopedic Surgeons, Vascular Surgeons, Colorectal Surgeons, Urologist, Medical Residents, Medical Students, Nurses, Nursing Students, Nutritionists, etc

The AAMS would like to thank our local partners who have made this event possible including Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center, Glendale Adventist Medical Center, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, Northwest Glendale Lions Club, Glendale Healthy Kids, Armenian American Nurses Association, the Office of State Senator Carol Liu, Office of Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich, Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, and Glendale Community Services and Parks Department.

Thank you to our members, volunteers, sponsors and vendors who participated in this community event.
